Hi everyone! I’ve had a busy holiday season that I will definitely blog about soon, specifically the Student Life Holiday Party. After the massive amount of work that it took, I thought I needed a nice long break from my craft table. I got a new DVR in my bedroom, so I decided I would catch up on the shows I had missed from fall… that lasted about a week, and then I was really bored.
I have a few parties coming up in the spring, but nothing big RIGHT NOW. So I cleverly manipulated the work birthday party assignment (we all host one per year) so I would get the first one of the year. Yay new project!
I assigned myself Annabelle, who loves fuchsia and black. Luckily for my hoarding tendencies, I had grabbed a ton of black and fuchsia items during Christmas clearance because it could be used for soooo many projects all year long. (I always have to justify my random purchases.)
I was once again faced with making our conference room look halfway decent with all of its random walls and doors. I made some banners, a deco mesh spiral wreath, cute can utensil holders and set up a potato bar luncheon. We buy our potatoes from Wendy’s, and I brought in all of the fixings like green onions, butter, crumbled bacon, sour cream, chili, and broccoli in cheese sauce.
I don’t have pictures, but in the adjoining room I created a build your own custom cheesecake bar. The toppings were… wait for it… chocolate chips, fudge, caramel sauce, pecans, cherry pie filling, strawberry jam, berries, crushed butterfinger, chopped snickers, crushed oreos and whipped cream. I bought the plain cheesecake at Costco, and my coworkers were floored at how amazing it tasted! Since I am being “good” and not eating sweets, I didn’t get to partake in that part of the meal, but it looked delish.
A few pictures of the event (please don’t judge me, someday I WILL have a big girl camera):
